Justin Nicolino (W, 4-2) earned his second straight win after allowing two runs (one earned on three hits) in seven innings of work. Nicolino issued one walk and tied a season-high with four strikeouts in Thursday's win. The left-hander worked a magisterial first six innings, holding the Biscuits hitless and at one point sitting down 13 Biscuits in a row. Cameron Seitzer broke up Nicolino's no-hitter on a two-run home run to right field with no outs in the seventh.

Coming on in the eighth inning, Tyler Higgins (H, 2) was only able to retire one batter, giving up two runs (both earned) on three hits in his 0.1 innings of action. Jheyson Manzueta (H, 2) came on to record the final two outs, striking out two batters and walking one while preserving a one-run lead in his crucial 0.2 innings of relief.

Nick Wittgren (SV, 8) earned the save on his 23rd birthday, allowing one hit while striking out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning.

Roberto Gomez (L, 1-3) took the loss for the Biscuits after allowing five runs (all earned) on six hits in six innings of work, while striking out two batters and issuing a lone walk. After allowing five runs between the second and third innings, Gomez held the Suns off the board in his final three innings.

The Suns broke the scoreless tie by plating a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning. Brady Shoemaker helped the Suns manufacture their first run with a RBI groundout and Joe Benson scored on a wild pitch to give the Suns a 2-0 lead.

The Suns furthered their early lead with three more runs in the bottom of the third. A J.T. Realmuto RBI groundout and RBI singles from Alex Burg and Brady Shoemaker pushed Jacksonville's lead to 5-0 after three innings of play.

With Jaker Hager reaching on an error to begin the top of the seventh inning and Nicolino's no-hitter still in tact, the next batter was Cameron Seitzer, who promptly busted up the no-no bid with a two-run home run to right to cut the Suns' lead to 5-2.

The Biscuits pounced on Tyler Higgins in the eighth inning, with Joey Rickard singling and Ryan Brett (HR, 4) hammering his fourth home run of the year over the wall in left to cut Jacksonville's lead to 5-4 in the top of the eighth and cap off Thursday night's scoring.

The Suns and Biscuits will be back at it on Friday night for the sixth and final game of the series, with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. ET at Bragan Field.
