Montgomery Biscuits News Release

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Biscuits (26-28) broke up Justin Nicolino's no-hit-bid in the seventh inning, put the tying run on base in the ninth inning but dropped their seventh-straight game by losing 5-4 to the Jacksonville Suns (29-25) Thursday night at the Baseball Grounds.

Nicolino allowed the first batter of the game, Ryan Brett, to reach after an error by shortstop Austin Nola. After the error, Nicolino retired 13-straight before walking Willie Argo in the fifth inning. The Biscuits would not get the offense going until the seventh inning when Jake Hager reached on an error, followed by a two-run home run from Cameron Seitzer to end Nicolino's bid for a no-hitter and make it a 5-2 game.

Nicolino finished by holding the Biscuits to two runs - one earned - on three hits with four strikeouts and no walks for his second win against the Biscuits this season.

The Biscuits trailed 5-0 through three innings, but Seitzer's home run then a two-run blast from Brett in the eighth shrunk the Suns' lead to one. After two quick outs in the ninth, Joey Rickard hit a 3-2 pitch into center to bring up Brett. Nick Wittgren struck out Brett on a 1-2 slider to end the game.

The Suns scored two runs in the second and three in the third off of Roberto Gomez to lead 5-0.

The Biscuits' seven-game losing streak is the longest in franchise history.

The series-finale is Friday night at 6:05 cst. RH Michael Colla will take the ball while the Suns will throw RH Angel Sanchez who was activated off of the disabled list on Thursday.
