Suns Make It Four in Row, Beat Lexington 9-6

Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (53-33) dumped the Lexington Legends (43-43), 9-6, at Municipal Stadium on Saturday night.

Suns first baseman Brett Newsome enjoyed a four-hit game, lacing three doubles and a home run, in a two RBI performance. Designated hitter Steven Souza, Jr. clubbed his 14th home run of the season, a two run shot, and later added a two-run double.

Suns starting pitcher Taylor Hill earned his team leading ninth win of the season pitching five innings, allowing five runs on eight hits. Aaron Barrett allowed just a walk in a scoreless ninth inning of work, notching his league-leading 14th save of the season.

Legends starter Luis Ordosgoitti did not factor in the decision, going four innings allowing five runs on seven hits. Reliever Nathan Pettus was tabbed with the loss, allowing one run over two innings of work. Shortstop Nolan Fontana went 3-for-4 with a double.

The Suns will conclude the five-game series with the Legends on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. when RHP Bobby Hansen, Jr. (2-0, 3.75) takes the mound against Lexington right-hander Jonas Dufek (5-1, 5.26).
