
Suns drop one to Captains, 7-6

HAGERSTOWN, Md - The Hagerstown Suns dropped the opener to the Lake County Captains by the score of 7-6 at Municipal Stadium. The Suns fell behind early in the ballgame when the Captains picked up two quick runs in the top of the first inning off Suns starter Corey Vanallan. The Suns trailed 6-0 in the sixth inning when Chris Marrero hit his first professional homerun to cut the lead to 6-2. The Suns later capitalized on a Captains error to lead to four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Marrero and Leonard Davis both picked up RBI's in the inning. Carlton Smith picked up the win for the Captains and Corey VanAllen got the loss for the Suns.
The Suns continue their series with the Captains tomorrow night at Municipal Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. Tomorrow is a Thirsty Thursday at the ballpark where all 12 oz drafts are $1.25. It is also a Ladies Night. The Suns will be holding a McDreamy contest during the game as well with competitions and prizes.
