Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release
MOBILE, Ala. â The Southern League game between the Suns and the Mobile BayBears was postponed Friday because of rain. It will not be made up because of the teams' places in the standings and because the league discourages doubleheaders on travel days. The Suns leave Sunday night following the game to begin a four-game series in Orlando. The Suns and BayBears will not meet â following Sunday â again this season.
The Suns and BayBears will continue their series Saturday at Hank Aaron Stadium. A previously scheduled doubleheader will begin at 6:05 p.m. RHP Edwin Jackson (2-3, 2.64 ERA) is scheduled to face BayBears lefty Cory Stewart (4-4, 3.58) in game one. In the nightcap, RHP Alfredo Gonzalez (1-1, 4.08) is slated to face RHP Duncan McAdoo (1-2, 3.47).
The doubleheader is a make-up of the Suns-BayBears game postponed because of rain on May 22 at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
