YPSILANTI, MI, June 9, 2009 - On the heels of union concessions, bankruptcy proceedings and a summer of untold stress, something had to be done for those bearing the brunt of these difficult economic times. And the Frontier League's Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti decided to act quickly.

For the remaining 40 games of its 2009 home schedule, the Midwest Sliders are offering GM, Chrysler and Ford employees as well as all UAW workers and their families, $1.00 admission tickets. The Sliders play their games at Oestrike Stadium on the campus of Eastern Michigan University. Covered seating capacity is 1,313, with plenty of standing room down both foul lines as well as lawn seating beyond the left centerfield fence.

"We're at the epicenter of this unprecedented situation," explained Sliders President Rob Hilliard, "and our organization wants to do our small part to make things better for those who have provided so much to the history and vitality of southeast Michigan. "

Additionally, the Sliders' food & beverage concession partner, V/Gladieux Enterprises, are making available a $4.00 combo meal consisting of a hot dog, candy and soda.
