Kalamazoo-The Kalamazoo Kings have announced that LHP Trent Lare has been signed by the New York Yankees organization and will report to their Staten Island affiliate.
Trent came to the Kalamazoo Kings after finishing his collegiate career at Division II Emporia State University. As a senior, he was 9-3 with an ERA of 3.00. He threw four complete games and had a K/BB ratio of six.
Once he joined the Kings, the Lyndon, KS native fit right in with his easy going attitude in the clubhouse. He also performed impressively on the mound, going 5-4 with a 3.17 ERA as a true rookie.
Over his 3 seasons with the Kings, Trent established himself as the workhorse of the Kings' starting rotation. He finished his career with the Kings with 35 starts in 38 total appearances, a 15-12 record, a 3.59 ERA, five complete games, four shutouts and 176 strikeouts in 228 innings of work.
The Kings are in the middle of a nine-game homestand that runs through Tuesday June 23rd. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. with gates to open at 6:05 p.m. Ticket prices are as follows: box seats - $8.00; general admission - $6.00.
