Tucson Sugar Skulls News Release

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Sugar Skulls have signed four new players for the 2025 Indoor Football League season. Each new addition brings a track record of success at collegiate, international, and professional levels.

Kevin Hyde

Hyde joins the Sugar Skulls after an impactful 2024 season with the Northern Arizona Wranglers, where he recorded 56 tackles, two interceptions, and six pass breakups over 15 games. A versatile defensive leader, Hyde previously excelled at Slippery Rock, where he captained the team, recording 29 tackles and seven pass breakups in 2022. His collegiate career also included standout seasons at Tiffin University, where he ranked among Division II's top defenders with 11 career interceptions.

Brion Murray

Murray comes to Tucson following a strong 2024 campaign with the Jacksonville Sharks, contributing 31 tackles, including 27 solo stops, in eight games. A former Virginia Tech standout, Murray's college career included multiple interceptions, a sack, and key defensive plays in high-pressure games. His versatility and experience make him a valuable asset in the secondary.

Lorenzo Thompson

Thompson joins the Sugar Skulls for his second IFL season, contributing 285 receiving yards, a touchdown, and a special teams impact with the Sioux Falls Storm in 2024. With prior international success in the German Football League, where he recorded 536 yards and four touchdowns, Thompson adds depth and playmaking ability to Tucson's receiving corps.

Cincere Mason

Mason arrives in Tucson for his second IFL season after debuting with the Iowa Barnstormers in 2024. A Kansas State alumnus, Mason made a mark in 2022 with three interceptions, including a 37-yard pick-six, before an injury shortened his season. Before Kansas State, he was a cornerstone of Kennesaw State's defense, leading with nine interceptions and delivering clutch performances in FCS playoff games.
