Charleston, WV (July 6, 2015) - The South Atlantic League has announced its Player-of-the-Week for the period of June 29 through July 5 and West Virginia Power outfielder Michael Suchy was honored for his efforts during that span. Suchy, a fifth round selection by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, hit .421 during the week with two home runs and a league-best ten runs batted while helping the Power win four of six.

Suchy hit .222 in 17 April games and .245 over 27 games in the month of May. From June 1 on, however, the right fielder has raised his average from .236 to .280 by batting .364 with four home runs and 21 runs batted in.

Pittsburgh selected Suchy from Florida Gulf Coast University, where he hit .291 over three seasons with 17 career home runs and 101 runs batted in.

Suchy is the first West Virginia player to be honored by the league at any point this year. For more information, contact the Power front office at (304) 344-2287 or visit www.wvpower.com.
