
Stovall, Marchan Spark 7-3 Friday Win

GREENSBORO, NC - Hunter Stovall and Rafael Marchan hit 1-2 for Lakewood and they had three hits apiece as the BlueClaws topped Greensboro 7-3 on Friday night from First National Bank Field.
The BlueClaws (18-35) had been winless in seven tries against Greensboro (35-18) entering the game on Friday night.
Lakewood opened scoring with three runs in the second inning. They scored one run on a throwing error on Hoppers pitcher Osvaldo Bido and added two in a single by Hunter Stovall.
Stovall singled in another run in the fourth, an inning which also included an RBI double from Rafael Marchan and a run scoring on a balk.
Cole Stobbe, who homered twice last night, hit an opposite field home run in the sixth to put the BlueClaws up 7-0. It was his fifth home run of the season and fourth off Greensboro.
Lakewood starter Tyler McKay threw four hitless innings with two walks. Gilmael Troya came on in the fifth with a scoreless inning, allowing Greensboro's first hit.
Kyle Glogoski (3-1) earned the win with 2.1 innings of relief. He allowed one run, which scored when Abdallah Aris walked in a run later in the eighth inning.
Stovall's three hits were his first three-hit game of the season. He added three RBIs in the win. Marchan had three hits for the second straight night. Yerwin Trejo and Jake Holmes had two hits apiece for the BlueClaws as well.
The teams continue their series on Saturday night at 7:00pm. LHP Jhordany Mezquita (2-3) starts for Lakewood opposite RHP Colin Selby (1-0).
