
Storm Set for Weekend Series against Lancers

RALSTON, NE. - The Tri-City Storm is set for a weekend series against the Omaha Lancers following Sunday's historic game played between the two in-state rivals at the Viaero Center. Tri-City netted twelve goals during the contest, the most scored by a Storm team during a single game in the organization's twenty-four-year history. Tonight's game will be played at Liberty First Credit Union Arena, and tomorrow's game between the Storm and the Lancers will take place at the Viaero Center. Tomorrow night's game is Hockey and Heels Night. Puck drop for the battle is set for 6:05pm CT. Puck drop for the Storms road game tonight at Liberty First Credit Union Arena is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
Tri-City (18-13-4-4) roared back for a ten-goal victory against Omaha on Sunday following back-to-back losses to the Des Moines Buccaneers to begin the weekend. The Storm collected three of a possible six points in last weekend's three-game home series. Goal scorers for Tri-City in Sunday's record-breaking effort performance included Ryan Smith (2), Vsevolod Logvin (2), Cam Briere, Philippe Blais-Savoie, Owen Beckner, Zach Bade, Trevor Connelly, Carmelo Crandell, Luke Posthumus, and A.J. Lacroix. The Storm improved to 13-3-0-2 when leading after the 1st period, and 14-0-2-0 when leading after the 2nd period in Sunday's victory over the Lancers. Tri-City is 26-8-2-2 in head-to-head matchups against Omaha over the past five seasons, and won last year's series with a final record of 8-1-0-1. Tonight's game is the Storm's first during the regular season at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena, where Tri-City has won twelve of its last seventeen games. The Storm has won each of the first two games played against the Lancers in this year's eight-game series.
Omaha (7-29-3-0) enters tonight's home game against Tri-City on a nine-game losing streak. The Lancers have won three of their last twenty games played, and suffered an 8-2 defeat on home ice last night to the Sioux City Musketeers. David Deputy (10, 11) netted each of the Lancers goals in the loss. Omaha has allowed an average of nine goals per game in its last three games, and is averaging more than six goals allowed per game on its current nine-game losing skid. The Lancers fell to 1-17-0-0 when trailing after the 1st period, and 1-25-0-0 when trailing after the 2nd period in last night's six-goal home loss to the Musketeers. Omaha is 12-23-2-1 in head-to-head games played against Tri-City over the past five seasons. The Lancers' most recent victory over the Storm came more than a year ago on Friday, February 3rd, 2023, in a 4-1 win at Liberty First Credit Union Arena.
