Merrill Makes College Commitment to Colgate

DUBUQUE, IA - Fighting Saints forward Teddy Merrill has announced his college commitment to play Division I hockey at Colgate University.

In 36 games this season, Merrill has scored six times and has 12 points overall. The first-year Saint has a plus-four rating and has been effective creating energy at all times for the Saints. Merrill paces Dubuque with 85 penalty minutes this season.

The forward out of Scottsdale, Arizona is the first current Saint to commit to Colgate University.

"I am proud and honored to announce my commitment to play Division I Hockey at Colgate University," Merrill said. "Thank you to all of my family, friends, teammates and coaches that have helped get me to this point. I'm excited for what is to come."

At Colgate, Merrill will be coached by former Saints assistant coach Zach Badalamenti, who is an assistant coach for the Raiders.

"We are very happy for Teddy that he has committed to Colgate," said head coach Kirk MacDonald. "He has been an integral part of our group this year."

"His physical play and ability to create momentum for the team has been a huge part of our team's success this year. With his relentless work ethic, he will only continue to get better over his time in Dubuque as he prepares for his time at Colgate."
