Storm Set for Three-Game Weekend on Home Ice

KEARNEY, NE. - The Tri-City Storm returns home to the Viaero Center this weekend for three consecutive games against Western Conference competition following a season-long seven-game road trip. Tri-City will host the Des Moines Buccaneers tonight and tomorrow night, before completing the three-game weekend on Sunday against the Omaha Lancers. Puck drop for tonight's battle between the Storm and the Buccaneers is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.

Ticket specials for tonight's home game at the Viaero Center include a $5 Kids' Friday. Storm players Blake Steenerson and Brandt Harper will participate in tonight's postgame autograph session. Tickets for the matchup are still available, and may be purchased online at www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144.

Tri-City (17-12-3-4) returns to action this weekend at the Viaero Center following a 5-4 overtime loss Tuesday night on the road to the Sioux Falls Stampede at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. Trevor Connelly (2), A.J. Lacroix, and Vladislav Lukashevich netted goals for the Storm in the loss. Tri-City was outshot 29-27 in the matchup, and fell to 7-5-3-2 when outshot by its opponents in games this season. The Storm has posted a 4-1-2-3 record over the last ten games, and enters tonight's game as the 5th place team in the USHL's Western Conference standings. The Storm completed its season-long seven-game road trip with a final record of 2-1-2-2. Tri-City collected points in the standings in six of the seven games played during the stretch. The Storm will now play four of its next five games on home ice, including three games this weekend. Tri-City has produced a 12-8-2-1 record in head-to-head games played against Des Moines over the past five seasons, including a 5-4-2-1 record in games played at the Viaero Center. The Storm won the only previous matchup of the season played against the Buccaneers by a final score of 4-3 on Saturday, October 14th, 2023.

Des Moines (13-20-4-0) travels to the Viaero Center for the only time this season for this weekend's two-game road series against Tri-City. The Buccaneers have won three of their past ten games, and enter tonight's road game against the Storm as the 7th place in the USHL's Western Conference standings. Des Moines' lone win in the last five games was on the road against the Muskegon Lumberjacks last Friday night at the Trinity Health Arena. The Buccaneers' most recent game was a 4-2 road loss to the Chicago Steel on Saturday at the Fox Valley Ice Arena. Ben Kevan scored both of Des Moines' goals during the 1st period, before the Buccaneers surrendered the final four goals of the contest. Scoring leaders for Des Moines entering tonight's road game against the Storm include Ben Kevan (18), Jack Kernan (13), Braedon Ford (9), and Lubomir Kupco (9). Tomorrow's battle at the Viaero Center will be the Buccaneers' final game of the weekend.
