
Lumberjacks Sign Vaclav Nestrasil, '07 Forward from Czechia

MUSKEGON, MI - Friday morning the Muskegon Lumberjacks signed 2007 birth year Vaclav Nestrasil from Praha, CZE. A top prospect for the 2025 NHL Draft Nestrasil comes to Muskegon from HC Sparta Praha in the Czechia U17 League.
When asked about the signing Lumberjacks President of Hockey Operations Steve Lowe "We are excited to add Vaclav now and for the future here in Muskegon. He's big, strong, and makes plays all over the ice." Lowe added "This is a big addition for the USHL. It shows the reach the league has around the world, and the quality of development the players go through as a part of our league."
In 34 games this season in the Czechia U17 league Nestrasil has picked up 50 points on 29 goals and 21 assists. Along with his time in Praha the 6'4 forward has seen time with the Czechia National U17 team where he has appeared in 12 games and recorded 8 total points.
Lumberjacks Head Coach Parker Burgess his thoughts on the newest Jack, "Vaclav is a big, talented winger with an extremely competitive edge in his game." Burgess added "He will add to our depth and skill upfront this season. We are very excited for him to get here and would like to welcome him to the organization."
Nestrasil is committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he will join the Minutemen in the Hockey East Conference.
The Lumberjacks are excited for Nestrasil to join the team as the 2023-2024 season continues.
