$16.50 for Teagan Damme

Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - Teagan Damme is a youth hockey goalie, a third grade student at Waterloo's Lou Henry Elementary, and a boy many people want to help as he takes on a rare genetic condition known as ALD.
One more way well-wishers can show their support is through the $16.50 Campaign, presented by Slumberland Furniture, 1650 The Fan-KCNZ, and the Waterloo Black Hawks. During the month of February, contributions of $16.50 to Teagan's medical fund will help provide treatments which may include chemotherapy, gene therapy, and potentially a bone marrow transplant. Contributions are being accepted at local Veridian Credit Union locations.
"The Cedar Valley is bigger than a lot of Iowa communities, but it is still a place where people care for their neighbors. All of our local hockey organizations are taking action in support of the Dammes, and I know the entire Cedar Valley will get behind Teagan as they learn his story," said Hawks President and COO Joe Greene.
ALD is short for Adrenoleukodystrophy. It is a disorder that affects the brain and nervous system. ALD is most commonly identified in children between the ages of 4 and 10. Treatment can help improve the quality of a patient's life and reduce complications affecting balance, vision, and hearing. Other severe symptoms include seizures and diminished brain function. There is no cure for ALD.
The $16.50 Campaign's goal is for 100 Black Hawks fans and 1650 listeners to make a modest contribution of $16.50 this month. Like any crowd-sourced fundraising effort, success depends on many people each lending a hand and the principle that pooling many small donations can help in a big way. The cooperative effort between Slumberland, the Black Hawks, and 1650-AM, KCNZ focuses on a different cause in the Cedar Valley each month during hockey season.
You can also show support for Teagan Damme by attending "Pack the House for Teagan Damme Night" on February 9th when the Black Hawks host the Green Bay Gamblers. Use the code TEAGANSTRONG when ordering from tickets.waterlooblackhawks.com and $6 from each ticket will be contributed to Teagan's medical fund.
