
Storm Set for Scout Night Game against Lancers

KEARNEY, NE. - The Tri-City Storm is set to host the Omaha Lancers this afternoon at the Viaero Center for the organization's annual Scout Night Game. Tri-City will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off on the ice following the rivalry matchup. Puck drop for tonight's game between the Storm and the Lancers is set for 3:05pm CT.
Tri-City (17-13-4-4) returns to action today against the Omaha Lancers for the team's final game of the weekend following back-to-back losses on home ice against the Des Moines Buccaneers. The Storm dropped a 4-3 overtime decision last night, and enters tonight's matchup with one victory in its last seven games. Tri-City is currently the 5th place team in the USHL's Western Conference standings. The Storm has posted a 3-2-3-2 record over the last ten games, and will seek to snap a three-game winless skid in today's home game against the Lancers. Tri-City won the only previous matchup of the season against Omaha on Friday, December 8th by a final score of 4-3. The Storm has posted a 25-8-2-2- record in head-to-head games played against the Lancers over the past five seasons, including a 13-3-2-2 record in games played between the two rivals at the Viaero Center. Tri-City won last year's series with a final record of 8-1-0-1 in head-to-head games played against Omaha. The Storm will battle the Lancers seven times over the team's final twenty-four games of the regular season after meeting only once in the opening thirty-eight games of the season. Scoring leaders for Tri-City entering today's home game against Omaha include Trevor Connelly (16), Ryan Smith (14), Cam Briere (13), August Falloon (11), Owen Beckner (10), Jake Rozzi (9), and Artemi Nizameyev (8). The Storm will return to action next weekend with back-to-back games against the Lancers. Tri-City will travel to the Liberty First Credit Union Arena for the first time this season on Friday before returning home to host the Lancers on Saturday. Puck drop for Saturday's home game at the Viaero Center between the Storm and the Lancers is scheduled for 6:05pm CT.
Omaha (7-27-3-0) travels to Kearney for tonight's rivalry matchup against Tri-City as the last-place team in the league standings. The Lancers will attempt to snap a seven-game winless skid in tonight's matchup. Omaha has not defeated a Western Conference opponent in the 2024 calendar year, and the Lancers have only one victory over a conference opponent since December 1st. Omaha has trailed entering the 2nd period in twenty-four of its thirty-seven games played this season. The Lancers dropped a 7-3 decision on the road to the Lincoln Stars last night at the Ice Box. Drew DellaSalla (7), Christian Kocsis (4), and Will Elger (7) netted goals for Omaha in the road defeat. Scoring leaders for Omaha ahead of today's road game against Tri-City include Nick Pierre (13), Jamison Sluys (11), David Deputy (9), Ethan Fredericks (9), Will Elger (7), Drew DellaSalla (7), Justin Stupka (7), and Aleksi Kivioja (5).
