Storm Select Daniil Chayka Seventh Overall

Guelph Storm News Release

With the seventh overall pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, the Guelph Storm welcome Daniil Chayka to the Royal City.

The six-foot-two, 173-pound defenseman posted 33 points (15 goals, 18 assists) in 45 games for the GTHL's Toronto Jr. Canadiens Minor Midget AAA team through the 2017-18 Season.

With the Jr. Canadiens, Chayka won the 2018 OHL Cup Powered by Under Armour, recording six points (four goals, two assists) in seven games, with a plus-seven rating.

Chayka is a native of Moskva, Russia.
