Niagara IceDogs News Release

The IceDogs' 11th consecutive appearance in the OHL Playoffs continued Saturday night down the QEW! After a disappointing overtime loss, the IceDogs came into this game motivated by the great effort it took to overcome a deep deficit in Game One.

Hamilton got on the board early in the game on a powerplay. Sam Miletic returned the favour 6 minutes later on a 5 on 3 powerplay of our own! Miletic's bomb from the to of the offensive zone slid right past Fulcher and into the back of the net to tie the game up at 1! Kirill Maksimov and Akil Thomas picked up the assists on Miletic's 4th goal of the postseason. The remainder of the period was a back and forth effort, with either side getting their fair share of opportunities and penalties.

In the second period, the Bulldogs re-gained their 1-goal lead to make the score 2-1 heading into the 3rd period.

In the 3rd period, the Good 'Dogs got their fair share of powerplay opportunities. A Drew Hunter blast from the blueline on a powerplay was tipped in by Matthew Philip to tie the game up at 2! Johnny Corneil was credited with the secondary assist on Philip's 3rd goal of the playoffs!

For the second consecutive game, 60 minutes proved not to be enough as the game was sent into overtime, tied 2-2.

Hamilton scored to take this one 3-2.

We'll be home on Monday for Game 3!
