Bulldogs Take 2-0 Series Lead over IceDogs with 3-2 OT Win

HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs lead their OHL Eastern Conference semi-final series 2-0 after a 3-2 overtime win Saturday night over the Niagara IceDogs.

During regulation time it was the battle of the special teams as the Bulldogs went 2-7 on the power-play while Niagara went 2-9.

It was 1-1 after 1 as Matthew Strome (3) scored at 1:17 only to see the IceDogs respond on a 5-on-3 to tie the game 1-1.

The Bulldogs got their own 5-on-3 power-play goal in the 2nd period as Brandon Saigeon (8) scored his 6th with the man advantage.

For the second straight game, the Bulldogs couldn't hold the lead in the 3rd period as the IceDogs sent the game to overtime for the second straight game.

Ryan Moore (4) was the hero for the Black and Gold as he took advantage of a mad scramble in front of the IceDogs net and scored the game winner at 6:25 of the extra period.

The series now shifts to St.Catharines for Games 3 and 4 Monday and Wednesday nights with Game 5 (if necessary) Thursday April 12th at FirstOntario Centre at 7 pm.
