Storm Drop Game for First Time this Season

SIOUX CITY, IA. - The Tri-City Storm dropped a game for the first time this season by a final score of 6-4 to the Sioux City Musketeers Friday night at the Tyson Events Center. Gavin Brindley (2), Cole O'Hara, and Tanner Adams scored goals in the game for Tri-City. The Storm return to action tomorrow night in a home game against the Sioux Falls Stampede. Puck drop for tomorrow's home game at the Viaero Center is scheduled for 7:05pm.

Gavin Brindley netted his fourth goal of the season just under five minutes into Friday's 1st period to give Tri-City a 1-0 lead. Cole O'Hara notched his seventh assist of the season on the play. Mikey Adamson scored his first goal of the season for the Musketeers on the powerplay at 10:53 of the period to bring the game to a 1-1 tie. Owen McLaughlin scored his fourth goal of the season at 16:48 of the 1st period to put Sioux City in front by a goal. Less than one minute later, at 17:42 of the 1st period, Kirklan Irey scored his fifth goal of the year to give Sioux City a 3-1 lead in the game. Sioux City outshot Tri-City 10-7 in the 1st period of Friday night's game. After opening the scoring, the Storm surrendered three unanswered goals and trailed by a score of 3-1 entering the 2nd period.

Tri-City roared back with two goals in the 2nd period to tie the game at 3-3. Cole O'Hara scored his second goal of the season at 13:10 of the 2nd period to cut the Musketeers' lead in half. Gavin Brindley scored his second goal of the game and fifth goal of the year at 14:53 of the period to tie the game. Brindley's goal was assisted by Lleyton Roed and Cole O'Hara. Tri-City outshot Sioux City 11-10 in the 1st period and was outshot 6-4 in the 2nd period.

Tanner Adams scored his first career USHL goal at 5:08 of the 3rd period to give the Storm a 4-3 lead. The goal by Adams was assisted by Andrew Strathmann and Vinny Borgesi. Just under two minutes later, Owen McLaughlin netted his fifth goal of the season and second goal of the game to tie the game at 4-4. Dylan James scored the game-winning goal for the Musketeers at 10:34 of the 3rd period. Ben Steeves netted an empty-net goal at 18:58 of the 3rd period to seal the 6-4 home win for the Musketeers. Each team recorded 25 shots on goal during the game.

Chase Clark recorded his first loss of the season in goal for the Storm after making 19 saves on 25 shots. Alex Tracy notched the win in net for Sioux City after making 21 saves on 25 shots on goal.

Tomorrow, Tri-City will play host to the Sioux Falls Stampede for "McKenna's Rae of Hope Foundation" night. The Storm and the Rae of Hope Foundation have teamed up to raise awareness for suicide awareness and prevention. Tri-City will skate in specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game. Proceeds will be given to the Rae of Hope Foundation. Fans are asked to wear purple and help support this great cause at tomorrow's game.
