Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

YESTERDAY'S WIN: The Storm Chasers earned a series split with the Las Vegas 51s by taking the finale 4-3, with a pair of two-out hits in the sixth inning by Xavier Nady and Anthony Seratelli proving to be the difference in the win after the Chasers had been victim to 14 runs on two-out hits by Las Vegas in the previous three games. The win moves the Storm Chasers to within one game of division leader Memphis, who fell to Tacoma on a walk-off home run at Cheney Stadium.

OMAHA VS TUCSON: Tonight's series opener between the T-Pads and the Storm Chasers marks the ninth meeting since San Diego moved their affiliation from Portland to Tucson starting in the 2011 season, and in the first eight games the Chasers have won seven. Overall in their PCL history Omaha holds a record of 39-37 against San Diego affiliates, including a 23-25 record in ten seasons against the Portland Beavers, and 9-11 in the three seasons San Diego's Triple-A franchise was the Las Vegas Stars. Against Tucson franchises, Omaha has an overall record of 39-28 (32-27 against the Tucson Sidewinders, ten-year affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks from 1998-2008).

MAX'S MONSTER MAY: With his team-leading eighth homer in yesterday's win, Max Ramirez is batting .404 (21-for-52) with five homers in his 13 games this month. Ramirez is one of only four players in the Pacific Coast League with a .400 or better batting average this month and one of five players with at least five long balls. Ramirez is tied with Johnny Giavotella for the team lead in May in extra-base hits at eight and RBI at 12. Ramirez hit only .184 in April in 21 games (14-for-76), the second worst average on the team during the opening month.

CONSISTENCY IN THE HEART OF THE ORDER: Xavier Nady and Anthony Seratelli are the only two players on the Storm Chasers with a .300 or better average since David Lough's promotion to Kansas City on Friday, and each have not seen their average dip below the .300 line since April 26 (a span of 20 games). Nady has a hit in 11 consecutive starts, while Seratelli has been on base in 29 of his 30 starts this season (Nady has been on base in all but three of his 37 starts this season).

JUST GET OUT OF THE OPENING FRAME: Storm Chasers starting pitcher Nate Adcock has allowed 13 of his 27 runs this season in the first inning, while all other starting pitchers for Omaha this season have combined to give up 17 runs in the first. In 2012, Adcock allowed 13 runs in the first inning in the entire season.
