Federowicz Rejoins Isotopes

C Tim Federowicz rejoins the Albuquerque Isotopes today, May 20 after being optioned by the Los Angeles Dodgers yesterday. In a corresponding move, C Matt Wallach was sent to Ogden after returning to Albuquerque on May 8.
This is the third stint Federowicz is making with the Isotopes this season. The 25-year-old catcher hit .531 (26-for-49) in 13 games this year for the Topes with seven home runs and 20 RBI. He also has four doubles and one triple. From behind the dish, Federowicz has tossed out 36 percent of potential base stealers (4-11). Federowicz was named PCL Player of the Week for April 29-May 5.
With Los Angeles this season, the Pennsylvania native is batting .176 (3-for-17) in 10 games. He hold a career .182 (6-for-33) average in 20 Major League games. The backstop began the 2013 season on the Dodgers' Opening Day roster.
He made his Major League debut on September 11, 2011 with the Dodgers against the Giants in San Francisco. Federowicz was originally drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 7th round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft. He was traded to the Dodgers from Boston on July 31, 2011 with RHP Stephen Fife for OF Tayvon Robinson.
Matt Wallach was sent to Ogden after three stints with the Topes this season. The backstop began the season on Albuquerque's Opening Day roster. In 13 games with Albuquerque this season, Wallach holds a .220 (9-for-41) batting average with a double, a home run, four runs scored and six RBI. He threw out 70 percent of potential base stealers (7-for-10). The Florida native was drafted by the Dodgers in the 22nd round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft.
