
Stockton Kings Come Back in Overtime Thriller against Greensboro Swarm

Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Kings (29-19), the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, made a difficult comeback to beat the Greensboro Swarm (23-24), the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, 118-116 in overtime. Greensboro took the league in the first quarter and kept it, until Stockton tied the game to send it into overtime. Stockton forward Matt Jones posted a season-high 33 points to help Stockton take home the victory.
Greensboro took the lead with seven minutes left in the first quarter and remained ahead until Stockton tied the game to send it into overtime. Stockton guard Cody Demps scored 17 of his 23 points in the first half. Greensboro saw a 13-point lead going into the second half, leading Stockton 61-48.
Greensboro led by as many as 17 points at the two-minute mark in the third quarter. Jones scored 16 points in the fourth quarter to help Stockton make a comeback. Demps sent the game into overtime by tying the game with a dunk with 42.1 seconds on the clock. Neither team was able to score after that, sending the game into overtime tied at 114 points. In overtime, Stockton forward Taren Sullivan scored a basket to give Stockton a one-point lead and guard Tyrell Corbin secured the win with two free throws to bring the score to 118-116. Greensboro had the final possession of the game with 1.4 seconds on the clock but were unable to score.
Greensboro saw six players in double figures. Greensboro guard John Gillon led the Swarm in scoring with 23 points, four rebounds and two assists, while center Chinanu Onuaku posted a game-high 19 rebounds and contributed 15 points, five blocked shots, and four assists.
Five of Stockton's seven active players posted double figures. Jones lead both teams in scoring with a season high 33 points and added eight rebounds and two assists. Demps contributed 23 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Stockton will head on the road to face the South Bay Lakers on Thursday, March 21 at 7 p.m. This game can be viewed via ESPN+.
Stockton returns home on Saturday, March 23 at 7 p.m. The Stockton Kings will celebrate "Fan Appreciation Night" during their final home game of the regular season.
