Stockton Kings Acquire Returning Player Rights To Marcus Simmons

The Stockton Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, have traded the returning player rights of Michael Bethea Jr. to the Grand Rapids Drive in exchange for the returning player rights to Marcus Simmons.

Simmons, 30, played in 25 games with 16 starts in the NBA G League for Grand Rapids Drive last season averaging 4.76 points per game.

At University of Southern California (2007-2011) Simmons averaged 3.1 points, 2 rebounds, 0.9 assists in 105 games (46 starts) in four years and was the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year and made the All-Defensive Team.

Undrafted in the 2011 NBA draft, he played internationally, being featured with the Yokohama B-Corsairs (2011-12) of the Japanese BJ League, and the Phoenix Fuel Masters (2016-17) of the Philippine Basketball Association.
