GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Drive, the Official NBA G League Affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, announced a trade with the Stockton Kings earlier today. Per the terms of today's trade, the Drive have agreed to send the returning player rights to Marcus Simmons to the Stockton Kings in exchange for the returning player rights to Michael Bethea Jr.

Originally at a junior college for his first two college years, Michael Bethea Jr. played for Grambling State during the 2015-16 season and finished his college career at Chico State in 2016-17. The Staten Island native competed in 30 games with the Reno Bighorns (now Stockton Kings) during the 2017-18 season, starting in two of them. Bethea Jr. highlighted his 2017-18 season with a 17-point performance against South Bay where he went 5-6 from 3 off the bench. The 6'6 guard also started Stockton's 2018 playoff game against South Bay on April 3, where he scored 12 points on 4-6 from 3 in 31 minutes of action.

Bethea Jr. is scheduled to be in Grand Rapids as the Drive begin their 2018 Training Camp next week.

The 2018 NBA G League Draft will take place October 20, 2018 beginning at 1pm. The 2018-19 NBA G League season starts November 2, 2018. The Drive's full schedule can be found at NBAGrandRapids.com.
