
NAZ Suns Acquire Daniel Dixon in Trade with Maine

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona Suns announced today they have completed a trade with the Maine Red Claws. The Suns acquire the returning player rights to guard Daniel Dixon in exchange for the returning player rights to guard Archie Goodwin.
Dixon (6-6, 210 pounds) averaged 13.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 33.3 minutes per game for the Red Claws last season. He played in 46 games (25 starts) in 2017-18, which was his rookie campaign in the NBA G League.
Dixon ended last year with his best statistical month, averaging 16.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in March. He was one of 19 players in the league to achieve a triple-double last year, doing so on March 13 at Delaware, when he recorded 17 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
The 24-year-old went undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft before signing with the Boston Celtics. He played in one preseason game in 2017 and played for the Celtics' Summer League team in Las Vegas this past summer.
Dixon played four years collegiately at William & Mary in the Colonial Athletic Association. In his senior season, he posted 19.2 points on 48.2 percent shooting (87.0 percent from the free throw line), 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in 30 contests. That year he was All-CAA First Team and named the team's Most Valuable Player. The Great Falls, Virginia, native finished his collegiate career ranked third in school history in three-point makes (241), seventh in three-point percentage (.390), eighth in free throw percentage (.817), 14th in in points (1355) and 15th in games played (114). He averaged 11.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists across the four years.
Goodwin averaged 19.4 points on 55.9 percent shooting, 6.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals in 27 games (21 starts) for the NAZ Suns last season.
