Stingrays Weekly: Stingrays Open Six-Game Homestand this Week

The South Carolina Stingrays battled the Gwinnett Gladiators and Greenville Road Warriors during a three-game road trip this week for a record of 1-1-1-0. The Stingrays traveled to The Arena at Gwinnett Center on Wednesday and skated away with a 5-2 victory. Forward Pierre-Luc O'Brien recorded a goal and two assists and forwards Trent Campbell and Matt Scherer each had two assists. The Stingrays moved over to the Bi-Lo Center on Friday to face the Road Warriors. Forward Daniel Koger lit the lamp for South Carolina, but the Road Warriors scored late in the third period and in overtime for a 2-1 win. Saturday marked the final regular-season matchup between the Stingrays and Gladiators with the home team prevailing 2-1. O'Brien buried the lone goal for the Stingrays.

The Stingrays are third in the South Division with 69 points and sixth overall in the Eastern Conference.

Forward Trent Campbell is tied for first in the ECHL with four shorthanded assists.

Goaltender Philipp Grubauer ranks third in the ECHL with a 2.30 goals-against average and 22 wins and stands fourth with 2,376 minutes played.

Defenseman Johann Kroll is third in the ECHL and second among defensemen with a plus-minus rating of +20 and is 16th among ECHL defensemen with 27 points (7g, 20a).

Defenseman Derek Keller is tied for third among league defensemen with two shorthanded assists.

Defenseman Zach Tarkir is first among ECHL defensemen with five game-winning goals.
