South Carolina Stingrays News Release
The South Carolina Stingrays brought their seven-game road trip to a close on Wednesday against the Charlotte Checkers and kicked off a five-game home stand on Friday versus the Florida Everblades for a week record of 1-2-0-0. On Wednesday, the Stingrays battled the Checkers for the final time in team history at Time Warner Cable Arena, falling 3-1. Forward Trent Campbell scored a shorthanded goal in the loss as the Stingrays finished their season series with the Checkers going 5-5-0-1 and 74-52-20 all-time. The Stingrays welcomed the Everblades to North Charleston Coliseum Friday evening and skated away with a 4-3 shootout victory. Defenseman Dylan Yeo and forwards Keith Johnson and Campbell each lit the lamp in regulation and forward Spencer Carbery buried the game-winning goal in the ninth round of the shootout. The two teams squared off again on Saturday with the Everblades getting the upper hand, 4-2. Rookie Jake Hauswirth and Yeo both found the twine.
