Stingrays Weekly: Stingrays Excited For Pink In The Rink Weekend

The South Carolina Stingrays brought their seven-game road trip to a close on Wednesday against the Charlotte Checkers and kicked off a five-game home stand on Friday versus the Florida Everblades for a week record of 1-2-0-0. On Wednesday, the Stingrays battled the Checkers for the final time in team history at Time Warner Cable Arena, falling 3-1. Forward Trent Campbell scored a shorthanded goal in the loss as the Stingrays finished their season series with the Checkers going 5-5-0-1 and 74-52-20 all-time. The Stingrays welcomed the Everblades to North Charleston Coliseum Friday evening and skated away with a 4-3 shootout victory. Defenseman Dylan Yeo and forwards Keith Johnson and Campbell each lit the lamp in regulation and forward Spencer Carbery buried the game-winning goal in the ninth round of the shootout. The two teams squared off again on Saturday with the Everblades getting the upper hand, 4-2. Rookie Jake Hauswirth and Yeo both found the twine.

Taking the Lead:

The Stingrays are first in the South Division with 73 points and first overall in the American Conference.

Stingrays rookie forward Jake Hauswirth stands 18 on ECHL rookie chart with 11 goals and 20 assists for 31 points. Forward Rob Ricci ranks ninth among ECHL rookies with 37 points (18g, 19a).

Stingrays forward Keith Johnson leads the Stingrays and ranks 10 on the ECHL overall leaderboard with 20 goals and 31 assists for 51 points.

Forward Trent Campbell is currently on a six-game point streak with four goals and five assists. Campbell also ranks 12 overall in the ECHL with 14 goals and 35 assists for 49 points.
