Florida Returns Home for Longest Homestand of Season, Eight Games

The Everblades are in the midst of eight games in 12 days. With the tough part over (5 games in 6 days)...The Everblades posted a 2-1-1-1 mark. Hosting Gwinnett on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Everblades were beaten for the first time when leading after two periods (17-0-1-0) 4-3 in overtime. The 'Blades rebounded with a solid 3-1 win the following night. Florida then went on the road and lost in a shootout Friday night in Charleston (4-3) but followed that up with a 4-2 win the next day Stingray country. The road trip ended on Sunday in Gwinnett with a 6-3 loss at the hands of the Gladiators.

The Everblades return for three games as they play their last non-divisional games on the schedule. The games are just as important since they are against an American Conference foe. Florida battles Kalamazoo on Wednesday night, February 17 at 7:30 p.m. It's the final "Wet Wednesday" of the season featuring $2.00 20-ounce Budweiser drafts during the game and the first 2,500 fans receive Everblades hockey trading cards. The Everblades and Wings tangle on Friday and Saturday and it is Pink in the Rink weekend. Saturday the Everblades will wear special third jerseys that will be auctioned off LIVE after the game to benefit cancer. There is a mini-relay prior to the game and tailgate party starting at 5:00 p.m. featuring burgers and brews and live music.

Tuesday, February 9 vs Gwinnett Time Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: The Everblades started the week on a high note...almost. The 'Blades got a natural hat trick from rookie ECHL All Star Brandon Buck to take a 3-2 lead to the third period. Gwinnett tied the contest with 53-seconds to play and ultimately won the game at 3:11 of overtime, 4-3. Captain Adam Berti scored the game winner for the Gladiators.

Wednesday, February 10 vs Gwinnett Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: The eighth meeting of the season featured a defensive battle between the 'Blades and Gladiators. The Everblades won for the fifth time in the series, 3-1. Shea Guthrie, Mathieu Roy (GW) and Ryan Lang all scored for Florida. Chris Beckford-Tseu recorded his seventh win of the season stopping 29 shots.

Friday, February 12 @ South Carolina North Charleston Coliseum 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: South Carolina made it four straight over Florida on Friday night with a 4-3 shootout win. The 'Blades did manage a point in the nine player shootout. Kevin Baker, Ross Carlson and Colin Nicholson all scored for the 'Blades while South Carolina's ninth shooter Spencer Carbery ended the contest. Ross Carlson notched his team leading 16th and 17th markers of the season, while Shea Guthrie and newest Everblade Dominic Osman chipped in two helpers apiece.

Saturday, February 13 @ South Carolina North Charleston Coliseum 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: Florida knocked off the South Carolina for the first time since October 28, 2009. Mathieu Roy scored two goals while Dominic Osman and captain Ross Carlson each tallied a goal and an assist in the 'Blades 4-2 win. AJ Thelen also registered a multiple point game with two assists. Chris Beckford-Tseu stopped 32 of 34 shots to help Florida improve to 2-3-1 against South Carolina this season.

Sunday, February 14 @ Gwinnett The Arena at Gwinnett Center 4:05PM

GAME NOTES: Sunday afternoon in Duluth, Georgia has not been kind to Florida as the Gwinnett Gladiators doubled up the Everblades 6-3. Daniel Sullivan led the way for Gwinnett with four points (2g 2a) while Tim Miller, Mike MacLean and all star defenseman Drew Paris each scored a goal and an assist. Florida's bright spot was Kevin Baker who recorded his sixth and seventh goals of the season.

THIS WEEK

Wednesday, February 17 vs Kalamazoo Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: This is the first-ever meeting between the two clubs in Germain Arena. The Everblades did play two games in Kalamazoo early in the season and posted a 1-0-1 mark. The Everblades dropped a 7-6 shootout loss on November 28 and rebounded with a 5-2 win the following day.

Friday, February 19 vs Kalamazoo Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: Harrison Reed notched a hat trick and chipped in an assist as the Everblades overcame a 5-0 deficit to force overtime and a shootout. Harrison Reed scored with two seconds remaining to tie the game at 6-6. The game was ended in a shootout as the ninth shooter for Kalamazoo was the only scorer, Brian McGuirk, to give Kalamazoo the win.

Saturday, February 20 vs Kalamazoo Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: Harrison added two goals and an assist while Jacob Micflikier recorded four points (1g, 3a) and Kevin Baker and Ross Carlson each added a goal and an assist in the Everblades 5-2 victory in Kalamazoo on November 29. Barry Brust stopped 28 of 30 shots to pick up the win in net for Florida.

Chris Beckford-Tseu posted a 2-1-1-1 record appearing in all five games this week for Florida. The Toronto, Ontario native picked up wins over Gwinnett at home on Wednesday and South Carolina on the road in Charleston on Saturday. Overall, Beckford-Tseu stopped 132 of 148 shots and posted a 3.11 goals against and.892 save percentage for the week..

Florida ranks first in shootout attempts taken (15/66)and shootout attempts allowed (16/68)

The Everblades have given up a league high 305 attempts (only team over 300 PPGA) on the power play to opponents and allowed just 48 PPGA which ranks 2nd in the ECHL (84.9%)

The Everblades are a perfect 17-0-1-0 when leading after two periods of play
