Walleye Notes

- Stopping a Skid! Toledo ended a season high four game losing streak Saturday night 3-0 over Kalamazoo. It was the second time this year that Toledo has held an opponent scoreless. The previous time was October 24th vs. Trenton (1-0 win).

- A Pearce of Protection Again! Walleye goaltender Jordan Pearce made 36 saves to collect his first professional shutout in Saturday's 3-0 win. In his last three starts, Jordan has made 117 saves.

- Fantastic! Toledo welcomed a crowd of 8,200 to the Lucas County Arena Saturday night. It was the eighth sellout of the season for the Walleye and matched the biggest crowd ever (8,200 December 27th). Toledo has seen an ECHL league high 174,390 fans through the doors of the Lucas County Arena this season, which brings Toledo closer to the largest single season number in Toledo hockey history. Toledo is averaging 6, 013 fans per home contest.

- It's been a Long Time Coming! Defenseman Joe Charlebois scored two goals in the game Saturday night against Kalamazoo. The first came in the second period and it was the first goal for Joe since October 17th against Florida. It took him less than a period to score his third goal of the year.

- Lots of Zeros! It was a weekend of the zero for the Walleye. Friday night, Toledo lost to Cincinnati 1-0. Toledo rebounded with a 3-0 win Saturday, followed by a 3-0 loss Sunday. Toledo has been held without a goal three times this year.

On the Hook

- Gametime! The Walleye hit the road this week for a total of four games. The first is a Wednesday date with the arch-rival Cincinnati Cyclones. Toledo lost 1-0 to Cincinnati last Friday, but has taken five of the first eight meetings this year. Toledo is 11-11-0-0 against the North Division this season.

On Thursday night, Toledo will be Charlotte for an 11:59pm start time. The Walleye and Checkers have split the season series. Over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) the Walleye will make their lone appearance in South Carolina as they meet the defending Kelly Cup Champion Stingrays. South Carolina appeared in Toledo for two games earlier this season. Toledo is 0-1-0-1 against the Stingrays.

Walleye Player of the Week: Joe Charlebois (2 goals - 0 assists 2 points)

Joe collected his first two goal game as a professional.

Walleye Goaltender of the Week: Jordan Pearce (1-1-0, 1.50 gaa,.960 save %)

Jordan was perfect in Saturday's 3-0 win.
