South Carolina Stingrays News Release

The South Carolina Stingrays battled the Greenville Road Warriors in a three-game in three-day set last week, earning a week record of 1-0-0-2 and an overall standing of 2-3-0-2.

The two sides began the series on Thursday in Greenville, South Carolina with the Road Warriors skating away with a 3-2 shootout victory. Forwards Andrew Rowe and Cory Cane put the Stingrays up 2-0 in the second period before the Road Warriors mounted the comeback. Goaltender Brandon Anderson made his Stingrays and season debut making 20 saves.

The series shifted to the North Charleston Coliseum Friday night, but it was the Road Warriors who spoiled the homecoming in a 5-4 decision after a 12-round shootout. Netminder David LeNeveu registered 25 saves and stopped three of 12 Road Warriors shooters and faced six game-winning scenarios. Rowe added a goal and an assist for the Stingrays.

On Saturday, the Stingrays flipped the script in the series finale at the Coliseum thanks to forward Caleb Herbert's first professional hat trick and forward Cody Sylvester's three-point evening (one goal, two assists) to take down Greenville 4-2. Rowe and forward Joe Devin pitched in two assists each. The win snapped a four-game winless streak (0-2-0-2). Watch Highlights
