First game of the season between these two teams. Florida has a record of 1-3-2 on the road and sits in sixth place in the Southeast Division with seven points. The Everblades knocked the Stingrays out of the post season a year ago. Stingrays will look to improve on a 6-0 start and a franchise record.

Second game of a two game set and the last game of a six game home stand. The Everblades are in their second season under Gerry Fleming. Rays have a chance to tie an ECHL mark for eight straight wins to start a season. Florida boasts the sixth best penalty kill in the league at 87.2%.

Last Week in Review: The Stingrays went 3-0 last week with three home wins. On Tuesday night, South Carolina earned its first regulation win of the season with a 4-2 victory over the Greenville Grrrowl. The Rays are now 2-0 against Greenville this season. Dave Seitz netted the game winner on a penalty shot late in the third period. Friday night saw the Stingrays blast the Augusta Lynx 5-1. Matt Desrosiers had the game winner for the Stingrays and Kirk Daubenspeck made 31 saves. The Stingrays won their third game of the week on Saturday night, 4-2 over the Roanoke Express. Kirk Daubenspeck was the difference making 43 saves for the win and Marty Clapton had a pair of goals in the victory.

Team Notes:

The Stingrays are 4-0 on a current six game home stand that wraps up this weekend with two games against the Florida Everblades. South Carolina has won all six games it has played this season, which is a new record for the franchise at the start of the year. The team needs two wins to tie the ECHL mark held by Trenton in 2001 and Dayton in 1994. The Rays have the top offense in the league averaging 4.67 goals per game. The team's defense is ranked eighth, allowing just 2.83 goals against per game. The Stingrays have the number one power play in the ECHL with a mark of 30.4% on 14 goals in 46 chances. The team's penalty kill is slowly climbing back to respectability and is currently 20th in the league at 78%. Three of the Stingrays six wins have come in shootouts. The Rays are tied for first place in the Southeast with Columbia with two games in hand. South Carolina has outscored its opponents 8-2 in the third period this season.

Players:

Kirk Daubenspeck has won all six games for the Stingrays between the pipes. His goals against average has improved to 2.72 and he has a save percentage of .913%. At home he has been incredible with a mark of 4-0 and a goals against average of 1.71 along with a save percentage of .948%. The Stingrays have gotten a balanced offensive attack this season. Four players have four goals or more. Dave Seitz leads the team with five goals and five assists for ten points, while Mike Jickling, Adam Calder and Curtis Huppe each have four goals. Calder has added five assists and now has nine points. Rookie defenseman Aaron Schneekloth has six assists on the year and is among the league leaders in scoring for rookies and defensemen. Marty Clapton netted his first two goals of the season on Saturday night.
