October 27, 2002 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release
FRESNO, Calif. â The Falcons want to scare away crime in Fresno, and they need your help! The team will be donning special edition Halloween jerseys on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 7 pm when the San Diego Gulls come to town. The jerseys will then be auctioned off on Saturday night, Nov. 2, with a portion of the proceeds going to Crime Stoppers and the Rick Grimsley Trust Fund. The auction will be held immediately following the conclusion of the Nov. 2nd game, and will be held at the El Torito Restaurant on Tulare and R Street.
Since the Falcons are dressing up for Halloween, fans are asked to come to the Oct. 29 game in costume as well. If the promotions team "See's" you in costume, you will be rewarded with free candy from See's Candies! As always, the Tuesday night game at 7 pm is a Carl's Jr. "Two for Tuesday", so don't forget to go to your local Carl's Jr. restaurant to pick up your coupon! Fans will have a chance to get a closer look at the Halloween jerseys as they will be on display when the Bakersfield Condors visit Selland Arena on Friday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 pm, and when Idaho visits Fresno on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 pm.
The Crime Stoppers program is a partnership between the Fresno Police Department and local media outlets to enlist the assistance of the public in locating wanted criminals. Over 50 million dollars worth of illegal drugs have been seized and more than 15 million dollars in stolen property has been recovered. The Crime Stoppers program has solved well over 7,000 cases since the program began in 1985. The Rick Grimsley Trust Fund is a fund that has been set up in honor of Grimsley, an officer in the Exeter Police Department who was severely injured during a routine traffic stop. The fund will be used to help cover Grimsley's medical and family expenses.
Group tickets for the Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday night games are available by calling the Falcons office at 485-PUCK. Individual tickets are still available for all games at the Selland Arena box office or at any Ticketmaster location, including www.ticketmaster.com.
