
Royals Claim Six of Eight Points This Week

Reading's eight games in twelve day stand ends with a roar! The Reading Royals won two of three on the road and picked up a victory at home to claim six points in the Northeast Division. Reading picked up their first road win on Wednesday in Atlantic City in a dramatic 3-2 shootout...Friday the Royals finished one goal short in their first visit to Greensboro. Saturday in the Sovereign Center, the Royals picked up their first victory of the season against the Trenton Titans, 4-1. Finally, Reading won on the road in Wilkes Barre /Scranton in a dramatic come-from-behind 3-2 decision over the Wheeling Nailers. Reading enters the fourth week of the season with two home games and one game on the road...Friday night, the Royals will battle the Nailers in the Sovereign Center...Saturday, the fifth meeting in Trenton between the Titans and Royals and finally, Reading finishes the week in the Sovereign Center with their first meeting of the season against Richmond. This upcoming weekend marks the third straight weekend the Royals play three games in three nights.

Friday, November 1 vs. Wheeling Sovereign Center 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: The Wheeling-Reading rivalry heats up again in the Sovereign Center Friday night. Reading has taken the first two meetings of the season series. These two teams played last Sunday in Wilkes Barre/Scranton and the Royals scored three goals in the third period to pick up a 3-2 win. Reading beat Wheeling October 11 on opening night in the Sovereign Center 7-3.
Saturday, November 2 @ Trenton Sovereign Bank Arena 7:00PM
GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals and Trenton Titans meet for the fifth time this season. Reading knocked off Trenton for the first time this season last Saturday in the Sovereign Center 4-1. The Royals and Titans will meet again in two weeks after this battle. Reading and Trenton will not see each other until February 16 after the November 17 contest in Trenton.
Saturday, November 3 vs. Richmond Sovereign Center 5:05PM
GAME NOTES: This is the first meeting between these two Northeast Division foes. The Renegades and Royals will meet a total of eight times with each team hosting four games. Reading posted a 3-2-1 mark against the Renegades last season. The Royals were a perfect 2-0-0 at home against Richmond a year ago.

GAME NOTES: Steve Rymsha and Chris Bogas picked up their first goals of the season to help the Royals secure their first road win. The Royals snapped a three game skid with the victory. Mat Snesrud notched the game winner in the shootout. Reading netminder Scott Fankhouser was exceptional in goal with 38 saves in regulation and overtime, plus five of six shooters in the shootout.
Friday, October 25 @ Greensboro Greensboro Coliseum 7:30PM
GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals couldn't spoil the Generals home opener Friday night as Greensboro beat Reading 3-2 in Greensboro Coliseum. General netminder Daniel Berthiaume held off a late Royal flurry in the third to preserve the Greensboro win. Reading got goals from Brian McCullough and Dan Riva in defeat.
Saturday, October 26 vs. Trenton Sovereign Center 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: The Royals posted their first victory of the season with an impressive 4-1 in the Sovereign Center. The Royals road a 32 save performance by goaltender Scott Fankhouser to victory. The Royals blew the game open in the 2nd period with two power play goals by Brad Rooney and Chris Bogas to take a 3-1 lead. Tom Rouleau added an insurance goal in the third to seal the deal.
Sunday, October 27 @ Wheeling Wilkes Barre/Scranton 5:00PM
GAME NOTES: Reading improved to 2-0-0 against Wheeling with an impressive 3-2 come-from-behind win. The Royals picked up two power play and an even strength goal in the last 11 minutes of the game. Dan Riva, and Brian McCullough (2) posted the Royals goals.
ROYALS PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: #4 Defenseman â Chris Bogas 4GP â 2g, 2a 4pts/ +1 The Ohio native tallied a two goals (PP), two assists and a game winner in the Royals four-game week. Bogas helped the Royals to a 3-1-0 week and moved them one point out of first place in the Northeast Division.

ROYALS GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: #30 â Scott Fankhouser 4GP â 3-1-0 record 1.96GAA .939 SV% Scott Fankhouser led the Royals to a 3-1-0 week. Fankhouser was spectactular last week posting a goals against average of under two and a .940 save percentage. Wednesday Fankhouser made 38 saves and stopped 5 of 6 shooters in the shootout to get a 3-2 decision in Atlantic City (the first road win for Reading). Saturday the Royals beat Trenton for the first time...Fankhouser made 17 of his 32 saves in the third period. TOTALS: 126 saves â 134 shots, shootout win and claimed team's first road win
