Stingrays' Peverley Named In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - South Carolina forward Rich Peverley is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for January 10-16.

The 6-0 and 190-pound rookie scored five goals and added two assists while helping the Stingrays go 3-0-0 for the week and extend their winning streak to five games. After scoring two goals and assisting on the game-winning goal in a 5-2 win against Columbia on January 11, the 22-year-old Peverley had his third two-goal game and his sixth multiple-point game with three points (2g-1a) in a 4-3 win at Gwinnett on January 14. He ended the week scoring the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win at Augusta on January 15.

Under contract to Portland of the American Hockey League, Peverley has nine points (6g-3a) and a plus-minus rating of +3 during South Carolina's current five-game winning streak. He is tied for 18th among ECHL rookies with 25 points (13g-12a) and ranks third on the Stingrays in scoring and power-play points (9).

The Guelph, Ontario native spent four years playing collegiate hockey with St. Lawrence University, scoring 117 points (44g-73a) in 138 games, including career bests in goals (17), assists (25) and points (41) in 42 games as a senior.

On behalf of Rich Peverley, a case of pucks will be donated to a South Carolina area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. In Glas Co has donated over 10,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the award in 2000-01.
