
Stingrays Announce Stingrays Low Country Relief Day

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that Sunday, March 22nd will be Stingrays Low Country Relief Day. Stingrays Low Country Relief Day is intended to benefit individuals and families affected by loss of work in the last year.
If you or someone you know has lost their job or their business recently as the result of the recent economic downturn, the South Carolina Stingrays would like to invite you or that someone to a free afternoon escape from the stresses of everyday life. The Rays are offering free tickets to these individuals and their families for their home game on Sunday, March 22nd at 5:00PM at the North Charleston Coliseum. The game also features a free pregame Kid's Carnival outside the Coliseum beginning at 3:30. The tickets are only available by calling the Stingrays office at 744-2248 between now and Friday, March 20th and are only available to unemployed men and women and their families. This offer is not valid at the North Charleston Coliseum Box Office.
"From our ownership to our players, we have always been a community friendly team, that has tried to give back to our area and its causes," commented Stingrays President Darren Abbott. "On March 22nd, our goal is to have local families that are struggling take a break, come to the rink and enjoy a hockey game on us. Obviously this is a modest gesture, but we hope it is one some residents and families will take us up on."

Why: To lift the spirits of those that need lifting!
How: The Stingrays are offering free tickets for that game to any individual/ family that is suffering financially due to a job/business loss in the last 12 months. Call 744-2248 for a limited supply of tickets.
The Stingrays are home this weekend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night against the Mississippi Sea Wolves. Join us on Friday night for Military Night sponsored by Hampton Inn and Hampton Inn Suites. Saturday is Post and Courier Hall of Fame Night and Homeowner's Appreciation Night. Come out and see who will be the next inductee into the Stingrays Hall of Fame. Sunday, in addition to be the Stingrays Low Country Relief Day, is also Salute to Heroes Day brought to you by Exclusively Bimmers. With both pregame hockey between the Charleston Police Department and Columbia Fire Department and postgame hockey between the Charleston Fire Department and New York Fire Department, the Stingrays are raising money for the Equipping our Heroes Foundation, Fraternal Order of Police, and the Carolina Children's Charity. Friday and Saturday's games begin at 7:05 p.m., and Sunday's game starts at 5 p.m. Hope to see you there.
