The Week That Was...
The South Carolina Stingrays looked to gain eight more points on way to qualifying for their 15th playoff appearance and finished the week at 3-0-1.
The team started the week down in Mississippi to take on the Sea Wolves for two games. Up first was on Tuesday night. Scott Romfo, Travis Morin and Jeff Corey all scored power play goals on route to a 3-2 win. Jonathan Boutin stopped 35 shots.
The Rays looked to make it two in a row against Mississippi on Wednesday night. Nikita Kashirsky scored his first professional goal and Jeff Corey added his second goal in as many games, but the Stingrays couldn't hold on to the lead and lost 3-2 in a shootout.
Friday night, the team returned to the Coliseum to face the Gwinnett Gladiators. James Reimer made his Stingrays debut stopping 33 shots in the 6-4 victory. Spencer Carbery tallied two goals, including the game winner early in the third period.
On Sunday, the Rays went up to Charlotte to face the Checkers. In a battle for second place, both teams needed the win. With many Stingrays fans in the crowd, the team performed winning 4-0. Matt Sherer scored his ninth and tenth goals of the season and Reimer recorded the shutout.

The Stingrays are 2nd in both the American Conference and the South Division.
Travis Morin is 3rd in the ECHL with 75 points, is 1st in the league with both 55 assists, four short-handed assists and seven short-handed points, and is 2nd in power play assists (26).
Michael Dubuc is 4th in goals (35) and power play goals (13), and 3rd in game-winning goals (7). Among rookies, Dubuc is 8th in points (55), 2nd in goals, shots, and power play goals first in game-winning goals.
Maxime Lacroix is 8th in points among rookies (51) and 2nd in shots (211).
Captain Brad Farynuk, currently in Quad City, is 14th among defensemen with 31 points, and 4th in both goals (11), power play goals (7) and game-winning goals (3). Nate Kiser leads with 160 penalty minutes.
Jonathan Boutin is 5th in the league with his 2.62 goals-against average.
The Stingrays are ranked 3rd in the Power Play with 21.7% and is ranked 9th on the Penalty Kill at 83.6%.
