Biloxi, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves split a two-game home series with South Carolina, falling 3-2 on Tuesday and defeating the Stingrays 3-2 in a shootout on Wednesday. The Sea Wolves closed out their home schedule by splitting a two-game set with the Florida Everblades, winning 3-2 in overtime on Friday, but losing 3-2 on Saturday.

BILOXI, MS - The South Carolina Stingrays got three power-play goals on Tuesday evening, and that was enough to best the Mississippi Sea Wolves 3-2 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

South Carolina got on the board 3:51 into the first frame when Scott Romfo took a tic-tac-toe setup from Josh Godfrey and Travis Morin on a four-on-three power play. Mark Rooneem's 11th goal of the season drew Mississippi even when he took Jason Tejchma's pass and fired it just under the crossbar at 11:05 of the first.

South Carolina grabbed the lead back when Travis Morin poked a loose puck past Ryan Munce on the power play at 13:55 of the second period.

Mathieu Melanson's 26th goal of the season tied the game at two when Mike Berry fed a pass to Melanson, who made a head-fake and went backhand-to-forehand and buried the puck behind goaltender Jonathan Boutin at 3:50 of the third period.

Less than two minutes later, South Carolina grabbed the lead for good when Jeff Corey buried his 14th goal of the year on a power-play setup from Bryson Busniuk ad Patrick Wellar at 5:28.

Ryan Munce made 35 saves to earn a loss, and the Sea Wolves' power-play was 0-for-5.

Wednesday, March 11 vs. South Carolina, 2-3 SOW

BILOXI, MS - Ryan Munce stopped 48 shots through regulation and overtime and then stymied all three shooters in the shootout as the Mississippi Sea Wolves defeated the South Carolina Stingrays 3-2 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Wednesday night.

South Carolina got out to a 1-0 lead in the first period when rookie Nikita Kashirsky scored his first professional goal, rifling a kooky bounce off of the end boards past Munce for his first professional goal at 16:37.

The Stingrays grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second when Jeff Corey pumped the rebound of Lyon Messier's shot into the net at 10:46 of the second frame.

The Sea Wolves began mounting a comeback early in the third, controlling play in the offensive zone until Mike Berry found Mathieu Melanson open on the far post with a no look pass that Melanson tapped home for his 27th goal of the season at 6:04. Alex Parent drew the Sea Wolves even at 11:56 of the third when he grabbed the puck behind the net and made a wraparound move that fooled Stingrays netminder Jonathan Boutin at 11:56.

Munce made 16 saves through the third period and overtime, before the Sea Wolves scored on their first three shots in the shootout, while Munce denied all three South Carolina shooters to earn the win.

Friday, March 13 vs. Florida, 3-2 OTW

BILOXI, MS - Mathieu Melanson's one-timer on the power play gave the Mississippi Sea Wolves a 3-2 overtime victory over the Florida Everblades before 7,162 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Friday night.

Alex Parent scored for the second consecutive game, backhanding the rebound of Bill LeClerc's shot from the left point past Florida's David Leggio to give Mississippi a 1-0 lead at 8:26 of the first period.

Steve McJannet drew the Everblades even, blasting home the rebound of A.J. Thelen's shot at 8:09 of the second period to tie the game at one.

Pat Oliveto sprung Ryan Menei on a breakaway and he fired a wrist shot past Leggio for his 11th goal of the season and a 2-1 Sea Wolves lead just 3:53 into the third period.

Kevin Baker's 48th goal of the season at 15:19 of the third period tied the game at two, as Baker grabbed the puck on a kooky bounce off of Ross Carlson's dump-in and fired into the net that had been vacated by Ryan Munce, who came out to play it ahead.

Florida's Danick Bouchard took a delay of game penalty as he shot the puck out of the rink from the defensive zone, putting the Sea Wolves on the power play at 3:16 of overtime. Mathieu Melanson waited at the top of the right-wing circle and rifled a one-timer past Leggio for the game-winner at 3:39 of the extra session.

Ryan Munce made 40 saves through regulation and overtime, and Mississippi was 1-for-5 on the power play.

Saturday, March 14 vs. Florida, 2-3 L

BILOXI, MS - Ryan Cruthers scored his 28th goal of the season, and Jason Tejchma got the Sea Wolves on the board with a shorthand marker in the first period, but the Florida Everblades defeated the Mississippi Sea Wolves by the score of 3-2 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Saturday evening in front of 7,412 fans.

Florida got on the scoreboard with its' first shot of the night early in the first period, capitalizing on a giveaway in the defensive zone by Martin Frechette when Ernie Hartlieb fed the puck out of the right-wing corner to Colin Nicholson, who fired past Sea Wolves goalie Ryan Munce for his 11th goal of the season.

Jason Tejchma drew the Sea Wolves even when he potted his team-leading third shorthand goal of the season, taking a pass from Mark Rooneem on a two-on-one rush and burying it behind Everblades netminder Kyle Gajewski at 9:01 of the first period.

Ryan Cruthers' 28th goal of the season, a redirection of Matt Deschamps shot from the point, gave Mississippi a 2-1 lead at 5:06 of the third period. Florida's Colin Nicholson drew the game even when he redirected Dominic D'Amour's shot from the left point past Munce at 10:56 of the third. Florida took the lead for good when Milan Gajic walked in from the right wing corner and roofed the puck at 17:19.

Ryan Munce made 28 saves to earn a loss, and the Sea Wolves were 0-for-6 on the power play.
