
Constant, Huddy Return From Springfield

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, announced defenseman Ryan Constant (KAWN-stant) and rookie center Ryan Huddy (HUH-dee) have been reassigned to the Thunder from Springfield.
Constant and Huddy are expected to suit up for the Thunder on Wednesday, March 18 at Ontario, starting at 7:00 p.m. at Citizens Business Bank Arena (1420 KSTN/StocktonThunder.com). The game marks the Thunder's return from a nine-day layoff.
Constant, 23, has skated in 38 games for the Thunder this season, scoring eight points (4g-4a) while amassing 67 penalty minutes. The Opaskwayak Cree Nation, Mantioba resident has appeared in nine games for Springfield this season, collecting two assists, eight penalty minutes and a +5 rating.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound defenseman was signed to an AHL contract with Springfield before the 2008-09 season and has appeared in 183 career games with the Thunder and Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL and the Falcons and Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL, scoring 54 points (10g-44a) while posting 236 penalty minutes.
Huddy, 25, was recalled to Springfield most recently on Mar. 11 and has skated in 60 ECHL games this season, leading the Thunder and ranking eighth in ECHL scoring with 63 points (31g-32a) and is third in ECHL rookie goal-scoring (31), which stands as a Thunder single-season record.
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound forward, signed by Springfield to an AHL contract last summer, is one of three Thunder players who skated for the National Conference at the 2009 ECHL All-Star Game in Reading and has suited up in five games this season for Springfield, posting one assist.
The Thunder was voted "Best Local Sports Team" by readers of San Joaquin Magazine, has led the ECHL in attendance for three consecutive seasons and drew 239,337 fans to Stockton Arena in 2007-08.
