Steve Grogan to Make Hadlock Appearance on Patriot's Day

Portland, Maine- Former New England Patriot's quarterback Steve Grogan will be appearing at Hadlock Field on Patriot's Day, Monday, April 21st when the Sea Dogs take on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at 6:00 PM.
The Portland Sea Dogs will be hosting a "Football Appreciation Day," sponsored by Our Tickets and Tours.net on Patriot's Day. The day is highlighted by an appearance by Steve Grogan. Grogan will meet with the Portland Youth Football League at 5:00 PM at the Portland Expo. He will deliver the ceremonial first-pitch and will be available for autographs at the Sea Dogs' autograph table in the concourse.
Grogan is the longest tenured player in Patriot's history, playing sixteen seasons from 1975 to 1990. He's thrown the second-most touchdown passes in franchise history with 182, a mark only bested by Tom Brady. He ranks third on the Patriots All-time career passing attempts and completions charts, behind Drew Bledsoe and Brady. Grogan's career marks also include 2,164 rushing yards, which he amassed while averaging 4.9 yards-per carry, and scoring 35 rushing touchdowns. His 35 rushing touchdowns rank fourth in Patriots history. In 1976 he set an NFL for rushing touchdowns by a quarter back with 13.
Steve spent his college career at Kansas State University before being picked in the fifth round (116th overall) of the 1975 NFL Draft. He and his wife, Robbi, have three sons, Tyler, Tanner and Tate.
Additional activities for "Football Appreciation Day" include a first-pitch from Don Crisman. Crisman, a Kennebunk resident is one of five people who has attended every Super Bowl. The South Portland High School marching band will perform the National Anthem.
