Daniel Murphy had three extra-base hits and three RBI for the Binghamton Mets, but it wasn't enough, as they fell to the Akron Aeros 11-10 at Canal Park Tuesday. The loss ends Binghamton's win streak at three games.

The B-Mets (7-5) got on the board in the first when Ambiorix Concecpion walked and scored on Murphy's double to left-center. However, Akron (5-6) responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame off Jose Sanchez. Matt Whitney's RBI double tied the score before a Michael Aubrey groundout and Wes Hodges sacrifice fly made it 3-1 Aeros.

After Murphy homered in the third to pull the B-Mets within 3-2, Akron tacked on two more in the bottom of the frame on RBI hits by Hodges and Stephen Head for a 5-2 advantage.

Binghamton rallied for three runs in the fourth. Mike Carp, Salomon Manriquez and Josh Petersen began the frame with three straight singles, loading the bases with no outs. Jonathan Malo drew a bases-loaded walk to force in Carp and Manriquez and Petersen scored on a throwing error, knotting the score 5-5.

Hodges homered in the bottom of the fifth to put the Aeros back on top before Malo singled and scored on Murphy's double in the sixth, forcing a 6-6 tie.

Akron took the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth on Hodges' second homer of the ninth, a grand slam off Joe Hietpas (1-1) for a 10-6 advantage. However, Manriquez doubled and Jose Coronado singled him in during the seventh before Akron's Josh Rodriguez drove in a run with a single in the bottom of the frame for an 11-6 Aeros lead.

The B-Mets scored their final three runs in the eighth. Concepcion reached with a one-out single, stole second, moved to third on a groundout and scored on a wild pitch. Nick Evans then reached on a two-out error before Mike Carp and Manriquez hit back-to-back doubles, the latter scoring Evans and Carp with the game's final runs. Manriquez finished with four hits.

Jeff Stevens (2-0) earned the win in relief for Akron while Randy Newsom got the final four outs for his second save in as many chances.
