ENTERING TODAY'S ACTION...
Today, the SeaWolves look to snap a season-high four-game losing skid as the attempt to salvage the final game of a three-game set against the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) at Jerry Uht Park. The 'Wolves swept the Baysox in the opening series of the 2008 season, however, that was the last series victory for the 'Wolves as they have now dropped three straight series (vs. HAR, BNG, BOW). Erie is also looking to avoid being swept for the first time in 2008...RHP Ben Fritz will take the mound for the 'Wolves in his third start of the season and his second against the Baysox. Fritz has taken a pair of no-decisions in each of his last two outings, despite leaving with leads in both. In his first start against Bowie, Fritz went six innings allowing a run on seven hits with a pair of strikeouts and no walks...The Baysox will send RHP David Hernandez to the bump. Hernandez picked up a win in his last start against Akron. In the game, he went five innings, allowing a run on four hits with three walks and a season-high six strikeouts. Hernandez took a no-decision against the 'Wolves on April 5 going 5.2 innings, allowing a run on five hits with a pair of walks and four strikeouts. Today is the second time that Fritz will face off against Hernandez this season...Following today's game, the 'Wolves hit the road, beginning a seven-day trip on Thursday night in Altoona. After today, 13 of Erie's next 17 games will be away from Jerry Uht Park. The SeaWolves are 5-2 on the road this season.
