Mississippi RiverKings News Release

Youngstown, OH --- The Central Hockey League announced today that Northern Conference Coach Chris Stewart has added RiverKings goalie Larry Sterling and defenseman Jason Tessier to the 2007 All-Star roster. Tessier will be making his third all-star appearance (2002 with El Paso and 2005 with Rio Grande Valley), while it will be the first All-Star game for Sterling. They join defenseman Derek Landmesser who was announced as a starter on Wednesday. The 2007 CHL All-Star Game will be played on Wednesday, January 17 at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, LA.

Sterling has had a fantastic first half. He is the league co-leader with 16 wins on the season, has a 2.78 GAA and a .897 save percentage entering tonight's game at Youngstown. He was the Sher-Wood CHL Goalie of the Month for both October and November.

Tessier has been a steady presence for the solid RiverKings defensive corps while also contributing offensively. The seventh year vet has two goals and 15 assists in 26 games. He is second on the team in assists behind fellow all-star Derek Landmesser.

Landmesser has also been tabbed by Stewart to be the Northern Conference Captain. Landmesser is second in the league in defensive scoring with 28 points and leads the RiverKings with 23 assists.

The league also announced that RiverKings broadcaster Jim Erickson has been selected to be a part of the All-Star broadcast team.
