
Falk captures Player of the Week award

[ RIO RANCHO, N.M.]- The New Mexico Scorpions, proud member of the Central Hockey League (CHL), are proud to announce Mike Falk has been named the CHL's Oakley Player of the Week. He is the second Scorpion to win the award this season, fellow rookie Lance Herauf won the award in November.
Falk has played a key role in New Mexico 's recent resurgence with 16 points in his last 10 games, during which the Scorpions are undefeated in regulation with a 7-0-3 mark. During the past week he scored both his 10th and 11th goals of the season and added an assist in a 6-2 home win over Lubbock on December 22nd, then assisted on a pair of New Mexico goals in a 4-1 victory at Arizona the next night. Falk is currently riding a seven game point streak, and has points in 10 of his last 12 contests.
"We are very proud of Mike's play this season," said Scorpions head coach Ray Edwards. "Mike has played very well for us during the pat few weeks and is growing as a player every day."
The Scorpions will be back on home ice Friday night when their rivals from Arizona come to town. In addition to the hockey game, the Stanley Cup will be up for display at the Santa Ana Star Center . Fans can have their chance to take their picture with the most revered trophy in North America . The puck drops at 7:35 p.m.
