
Steelheads Rebound With Solid 5-1 Win in Anchorage

Fresh off a tough loss the Idaho Steelheads put together a solid 60 minutes and defeated the Anchorage Aces 5-1 at Sullivan Arena. Dion Darling scored a "Gordie Howe" hat trick with a goal, an assist and a fight to lead the Steelheads to their 45th win of the season. Idaho is now 45-16-7 with 97 points, just one point shy of the franchise record set last year of 98 points. The Steelheads finish their road trip Saturday night in Anchorage, then return home this Wednesday, April 3rd to take on Tacoma. For tickets call 331-8497 (TIXS).
Scott Burt (12), Derek Paget (19), Adam Copeland (22) and Greg Bullock (2) all potted first period goals as Idaho raced to a 4-0 lead. Darling scored his first as a Steelhead early in the second to make it 5-0. Former Steelhead Zdenek Ondrej scored the lone Aces goal in the third period. FINAL SCORE Idaho 5, Anchorage 1.
The game featured 22 combined power plays, Idaho went 2-9, Anchorage went 0-13. Anchorage outshot Idaho 33-21.
