Game Day:

Tonight the Johnstown Chiefs (38-30-2) and the Greensboro Generals (23-39-8) meet for the first and only time this season. The Chiefs clinched their third straight playoff appearance last night, with a 2-1 overtime win at Toledo. Philippe Roy's power play goal 2:59 into the extra session was the game winner when he took a Rob Sandrock pass and blasted it past Toledo goaltender Joey MacDonald. J.F. Boutin also scored for the Chiefs in the second period. Chiefs goaltender Dany Sabourin played strong in net, making 43 saves for his 13th win of the season. The Generals are coming off a 6-2 loss last night at home, to the South Carolina Stingrays. The Generals got goals from Chris Bell, and Craig Stahl. Frederic Henry made 35 saves for his 17th loss of the season.

Johnstown/Greensboro Season Series:

This is the first and only meeting this season between the two teams. The Chiefs were 2-0-2 against the Generals last season. The Chiefs are 4-2-2 against the 3rd year franchise.

The Chiefs broke the franchise record for most wins (38) in a season last night. The 1993-94 team had 37 wins. They also tied the franchise record for most points in a season with 78 (1991-92).....The Chiefs are 6-4-0 in their last ten games.....Johnstown's power play is currently ranked 6th in the ECHL (78 for 394; 19.8%).......Eric Schneider is tied for 2nd in the ECHL with 16 power play goals.....Defenseman Brent Bilodeau and Kevin Clauson are the only two players to have appeared in all 70 regular season games this year.........J.F. Boutin has 5 goals (4 PPG) and 6 assists (11 PTS) in his last nine games......Johnstown is 23-5-2 in one goal games this season........Dan Carlson leads the ECHL in shooting percentage scoring 28 goals on 116 shots (0.241)......The Chiefs finished their five game road trip 4-1-0.......Former General and current Chiefs defenseman Rob Sandrock has 3 goals and 15 assists (18 PTS) in 17 games since coming over from Greensboro on February 20th.

Generals Notes:

Former Chiefs defenseman Sergei Skrobot was placed on the injured reserve list with a separated shoulder earlier this week.......The Generals are 4-6-0 in their last ten games.......The Generals have the worst record in the ECHL (23-39-8; 54 PTS).......Jeff Bes is second in the ECHL with 57 assists.......Jeff Zehr is 5th in the league with 69 minor penalties.....Bes has 3 goals and 10 assists (13 PTS) in his last ten games.......The Generals lead the ECHL with 30 game misconduct's.......The Generals are 13-0-3 when leading after two periods.

The Chiefs wrap up the regular season tomorrow afternoon when the face-off against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. Game time is at 4:00 p.m. The game is also Fan Appreciation Day.
