BOISE, Idaho - Andrei Vasilyev's hat trick helped spark a four goal final period as the Idaho Steelheads rallied from a three-goal deficit to defeat the Fresno Falcons, 6-4 before 4,437 fans at the Bank of America Centre Wednesday night. The comeback marks the third time Idaho has come from behind to win when trailing after two periods; Fresno dropped its first this season when leading after two.

Idaho got on the board first with an even-strength goal from Vasilyev just 23 seconds into the first period. But, on the power play, the Falcons Daniel Bohac leveled the score at 7:47. Fresno took a one-goal lead after Idaho goalie Blair Allison stopped Bohac's shot from the blue line, but Kris Porter picked up the rebound and got a backhander past Allison. Less than three-minutes later, with Fresno on a five-on-three, Porter stole the puck at the blue line and went in all alone, beating Allison glove side.

At 7:37 of the second period, Idaho fell behind by three goals when Michael Kiesman scored on a two-on-one. A minute later, Steelheads forward Jeff Bateman scored to get Idaho back in the game, 4-2. The goal was Bateman's sixth of the year.

Idaho's Lance Galbraith closed the gap to one with a power play goal at 3:41 of the third period. Idaho applied pressure and Vasilyev capitalized with the tying goal on a nice wraparound at 10:23. With seven minutes remaining, Allison made a diving glove save across the open net to thwart Porter's attempted hat trick. The save lit a fire under Idaho, and Vasilyev recorded his first hat trick of the season with the game-winning goal at 15:25. Idaho put the game away with another power play goal as Ben Keup got his 9th of the year at 17:29.
