
Cancer Charity Event Highlights Upcoming Weekend

BILOXI, Miss. â The Mississippi Sea Wolves will play two home games this weekend, hosting the Louisiana IceGators on Friday at 7:35 p.m. and on Sunday the Columbus Cottonmouths visit at 4:05 p.m. at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
The 2nd annual "Faceoff Against Kids' Cancer" event to benefit Caps For Kids and Candlelighters of the Gulf Coast will be held on Sunday, with a postgame party and jersey auction to be held at Beau Rivage in the Magnolia Ballroom. A special t-shirt for $15 is your ticket into the game at 4:05 p.m., followed by the postgame festivities. T-shirts are available at the Sea Wolves hockey office, Outlet Store, Coast Community Banks, Edgewater Cleaners, Express Yourself, Nezaty's Café and World Gym, Biloxi. A limited number of t-shirts are available. The event is sponsored by Beau Rivage Resort and Casino, Caesars Entertainment, Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Gulfport and the Thanksgiving Charity Golf Classic.
"Faceoff Against Kids' Cancer" has proven to be much more than a hockey fundraiser. There have been 21 children that were matched with a Sea Wolves hockey player throughout the season. Last year, the Sea Wolves raised more than $54,000 for the two pediatric cancer charities.
Caps For Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing headwear signed by athletes, entertainers and other notable personalities to children with cancer who lose their hair from chemotherapy. Candlelighters is a support group dedicated to the financial, emotional, and educational support of families of children with cancer.
Other promotions for Sunday include the party four-pack, consisting of four tickets, four hotdogs and four soft drinks starting at only $44. It's also Cellular South / WXXV Fox 25 Honor Roll Night. The game broadcast on gets underway at 3:50 p.m. with the Nextel Pregame Show on WTNI-AM 1640 and online at msseawolves.com.
On Friday, promotions consist of 2-for-1 military, sponsored by Keesler Federal Credit Union. A postgame party for all ages will be held at the Village Sports Pub. Game coverage starts at 7:20 p.m. with the Nextel Pregame Show on WTNI-AM 1640 and online at msseawolves.com.
