
Chiefs Clinch Playoff Spot and Move into a Tie For Third Place

Atlantic City, NJ- The Johnstown Chiefs clinched a Kelly Cup playoff spot and moved into a tie for third place in the Northern division, with their 5-2 win, Wednesday night over the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies at Boardwalk Hall.
The Chiefs led 2-1 after the second period, before Ian Manzano, Dominic Forget and Steve Hildenbrand scored third period goals. Dmitri Tarabrin and Jason Notermann scored first period goals for the Chiefs. Dave Reid and Paul Falco scored for Atlantic City.
David Currie got his 18th win of the season making 38 saves. Scott Stirling made 13 saves for the Bullies.
The Chiefs (41-20-6) are now tied with Atlantic City (41-17-6) for third place in the division with 88 points.
The Chiefs are off until Friday night when they travel to Wheeling for a 7:30 p.m. game before closing out the regular season home schedule Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
Saturday, March 27th, when the Chiefs host the Trenton Titans at 7:00 p.m., several characters from the cult hockey film "Slap Shot," will be in attendance. There will be a special ceremony prior to the game. Throughout the first period, the characters will be signing autographs and there will be raffles for movie memorabilia with all proceeds going to Sparkle Twin Louise Arters and her battle with MS.
Sunday, March 28th, versus the Cincinnati Cyclones is Jeff Sullivan Bobble Head and Fan Appreciation Day. Game time is at 2:30 p.m. The first 2,000 people through the gate will receive a Jeff Sullivan Bobble head doll courtesy of Crown American and the Johnstown Renaissance group. In addition, hundred of prizes, donated by Chiefs sponsors will be given away at random to fans throughout the game. Following the game, there will be a "Skate with the Chiefs," and autograph session, with the entire team participating. Skate rentals will not be provided.
Tickets for both games are available at the War Memorial Box Office or by calling (814) 536-5156 or 1-800-CHF-TIXX. The box office is open from 10:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. through game time.
