Brampton Steelheads News Release

Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga Steelheads took on the Oshawa Generals at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre on Friday night.

The Generals opened the scoring one minute into the first period, as Brett Neumann picked up a loose puck off the face-off and snuck it past Kai Edmonds. The Steelheads responded right away, as Aidan Prueter found Thomas Harley on a 2-on-1, who made no mistake, sniping one past Andrew MacLean. At the end of the first period, the score was tied, but Mississauga was outshooting Oshawa 9-8.

The play remained even throughout the second period, with both teams trading scoring chances, and the Steelheads killing off a Max Dodig boarding penalty. It was Duncan Penman who stepped up to break the tie, as he fired a rocket from the top of the face-off circle to put the Steelheads up by one. The Fish headed into the second intermission with a 2-1 lead.

With the Steelheads in the penalty box, the Generals tied the game early in the third period as Danil Antropov found Oliver Suni on a cross crease pass. Edmonds made some big saves off the rush to keep the Steelheads in the game, but would eventually be beaten by Brett Neuman to give Oshawa their first lead of the game. The Steelheads continued to battle, and were rewarded as Nick Isaacson scored on a wrist shot from the slot to tie the game at three. With eight minutes to go in the third, Brett Harrison found open ice and one timed a shot past Edmonds to regain the Generals lead. The Fish were given a prime opportunity to tie the game, as William Ennis headed to the penalty box for holding, but couldn't find the equalizer.

The Generals held on to defeat the Steelheads by a score of 4-3. Aidan Prueter registered 2 points in the game (2A), while Nick Isaacson scored a goal to spark the Steelheads offence. Thomas Harley extended his point streak to 9 games (6G, 10A) with a goal in the first period.

Following the game, Steelheads Head Coach and General Manager James Richmond had the following to say "We didn't play 60 minutes, and that cost us. I did like that we held one of the best teams in the league to 24 shots. There was some good, we will make some corrections and try to be better in Peterborough tomorrow."
